Coping with stress is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. When things get stressful I tend to shut down. I just kind of give up and just slump through whatever needs to be done. I always react very wrong. I started to keep track of things in my calendar on my phone and starting there things got way better. I felt like the things I needed to do were laid out in front of me. It made me feel better. I am definitely going to start using a stress journal. It will be nice to know what exacerbates my stress and how to avoid it. An article I read recently talks about the stress students have while holding a job, going to school, and applying for college. A study done at NYU states that there is a small number of students dealing with chronic stress, some to a point of depression. It is crazy that students feel so stressed to a point where they can not function anymore. I am not at that point but as the school year goes on I may be. Especially when AP testing gets closer.
