I have fount that in my life I should not dwell on the negative aspects of it. I found that if I live in the moment and live my life to the fullest I am happier. There was a period of time where I dwelled on my website for web design, the more and more I thought about it the more stressed out I became, but I took a weekend off and stopped thinking about it, I started fresh and fixed all of my mistakes. It will effect my future because I will stay less stressed out in my daily life so I can accomplish what I need to. It can help others to not let them be taken over by their fears and their anxieties.
John Maxwell says the secret to success is to know where you are going, to have a north star. It is important to know where you want to go so you can figure out how to get there. My success right now is finishing my high school career with high grades and graduation in the top percentage of my class. In my future it is completing my premed program and med school with honors to become a surgeon.
Coping with stress is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. When things get stressful I tend to shut down. I just kind of give up and just slump through whatever needs to be done. I always react very wrong. I started to keep track of things in my calendar on my phone and starting there things got way better. I felt like the things I needed to do were laid out in front of me. It made me feel better. I am definitely going to start using a stress journal. It will be nice to know what exacerbates my stress and how to avoid it. An article I read recently talks about the stress students have while holding a job, going to school, and applying for college. A study done at NYU states that there is a small number of students dealing with chronic stress, some to a point of depression. It is crazy that students feel so stressed to a point where they can not function anymore. I am not at that point but as the school year goes on I may be. Especially when AP testing gets closer. http://www.nyu.edu/about/news-publications/news/2015/august/nyu-study-examines-top-high-school-students-stress-and-coping-mechanisms.html
Three words from the pyramid that meant a lot to me are team spirit, confidence, and competitive greatness. Team spirit means the most to me because I believe that I am a team player and I will support my team to no end. Once a Shorian always a Shorian. I love my team and I will cheer them on now and forever. Confidence means a lot to me because confidence is what makes you, you. Without feeling confident about yourself you will not be happy. Confidence is the key to success. Competitive greatness is important because you need the competitiveness to push you to become a better you. The urge to be competitive is what pushes you to be the best you can be. If you don't like how things are, change it- Jim Rohn
I did not like how I looked. I was starting to eat badly and I was not doing very many activities and the weight was just piling on. My sugar was high and I felt sick all the time. I was pushing 140 when I decided that it was time for me to make change in my life. I started eating less calories and exercising again. After a period of time the weight started returning to normal. I started at 140 and I am 117.6 pounds now. I have never been so excited of my progress and to feel better not only mentally but physically as well. |
