This summer I had the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. for the National Student Leadership Conference. It was truly an amazing experience and I was truly lucky to have the chance to go. It was a great way to learn new things and met new people. Over the summer every year my family and I travel to Traverse City to visit family over the Fourth of July. A large group of people come with us to enjoy the week up there. My grandparents live on about 8 acres so everyone pitches tents and stays in them all week. We do activities like beach days, fireworks, and a tubing trip. My favorite memory from this past summer was while I was in D.C. I met this girl named Addie, she was the only other person from Michigan, when we got on the plane we ended up sitting next to each other and made jokes about being room mates the whole way there. We were not room mates but her room was right across the hall from mine. We flew home together too. We got ice cream at the airport before we went our separate ways. The rest of the summer I worked. I worked for about 40 hours a week, which was nice because I love money.
